Robert Falcon Scott, British Antarctic Expedition on the ship Discovery, 1901 - 1904.
1902 - Scott's ship the Discovery frozen into the sea-ice after the first winter with a large snow-drift. The men are about to leave to lay supply depots that will be used on an attempt on the pole. The ship will remain stubbornly frozen in place until Feb 1904.
