Robert Falcon Scott, British Antarctic Expedition (South Pole Expedition) on the ship Terra Nova, 1910 - 1913.
1911 - Ukrainian Anton Omelchenko cooking pony mash in the stables accompanied by a sled dog. Recruited to the expedition while working as a jockey in Vladivostok, he took part in several sledging journeys.
He was killed by lightning in 1932 at age 49.
