Bears are quite commonly seen like this on land from the sea as you cruise by. Amongst the innumerable grey rocks every now and then you see a white one, check with the binoculars and then sail over to take a closer look.
Keen eyes and vigilance help, I found those of the guides and the bird-watchers on board worked better than mine in this regard.
