Musk Ox Bylot Island

In the summer the musk oxen come down to the valleys where they live in wet areas such as this by preference feeding on succulent and nutritious grasses to build up their reserves for the winter. In the winter months, they move to higher altitudes so they don't have to dig through deep snow to reach their main winter food of dwarf willow.
